I have tried countless dentists over the last 20 years and have never found the one…that is ’til Mark and his staff. They are an amazing group, caring, friendly and incredibly talented.

As someone who has experienced a few other dentists who nickel and dime you to death, I cannot speak more highly of Panneton Dental. My regular dentist, Dr. Casey Sexton, is amazing beyond words. She is kind, genuine, honest and trustworthy. Her diagnoses with any troubles my husband and I are having are always accurate and solutions always fit our budget.
While Dr. Sexton was out on maternity leave, I was assigned with Dr. Mark Panneton. Again, talk about an amazing experience! He understood the issue at hand and went above and beyond to help fix it – never making me feel like I was going through a procedure just to fill the pockets of the company. Dr. Panneton is also kind, genuine, honest and trustworthy. They both just have wonderful personalities that make you want to get to know them better.
Did I mention the staff? Wow! They not only go out of their way to get your appointment made so it’s convenient to you, but also welcome you like you’re walking into their home. What an amazing feeling when it can sometimes be unnerving going to the dentist.
I would recommend either of these two doctors to anyone looking for a dentist; they put the patients needs above their own every time. My husband is a patient, I’m a patient, when we have kids they will be patients and I will continue recommending them to other family and friends searching. You cannot go wrong with these dentists!!

Going to the dentist or some people is a scary experience. For me it’s like visiting a friend. I’ve been seeing Dr. Panneton for 35 years and consider him an old friend with whom I would trust with my life (and my teeth!), My new hygienist was friendly, thoughtful, and did a good job!

It’s important to schedule your routine dental appointments every six months or twice a year for dental exams and professional cleanings. Regular dental check-ups are essential for maintaining good oral health. During these visits, your dentist will conduct a comprehensive examination of your teeth to identify any potential issues, such as cavities and gum disease, and address them promptly. It also allows your dentist to eliminate plaque and tartar buildup in areas your toothbrush can’t reach.

Cosmetic dentistry is a field of dentistry that focuses on the improvement of your smile through various aesthetic treatments. It can include, but is not limited to, teeth whitening, veneers, reshaping teeth, and crowns/bridges for missing or damaged teeth.
Cosmetic dentistry gives patients the opportunity to improve their facial appearance as well as their confidence by changing the look and feel of their smile with minimal alteration to healthy tooth structure.
Finding a reputable dentist near me can be a tricky process, but it’s essential for your overall dental and health care. First and foremost, you want to make sure that the dentist is properly qualified. You can check their qualifications with the American Dental Association or other regulatory bodies.
Another great way to find a reputable dentist is by word of mouth—ask friends, family members, or neighbors whom they would recommend. You may also want to search online for reviews from patients who have seen various dentists in your area. This will give you an idea of how happy people are with their experiences at each practice. Additionally, many websites offer ratings from real patients so that you can get an accurate idea of what others think about a particular practice before making an appointment with them.

Invisalign is a revolutionary orthodontic treatment that utilizes 3D computer imaging technology to straighten teeth. It is an alternative to traditional braces and uses a series of custom-made clear aligners instead of metal brackets and wires. The aligners are made from lightweight, smooth plastic that fits snugly over your teeth to move them into the desired position gradually.
Invisalign works by changing each set of aligners slightly every 2 weeks so that your teeth will slowly begin to shift without any wires or brackets getting in the way. During your treatment, visits with an Invisalign dentist are scheduled every 6-8 weeks to check progress and provide new sets of aligners as needed. Once the treatment is complete, you may be required to wear a retainer at night for a couple of months afterward to keep your teeth securely in place.
Overall, Invisalign offers many benefits compared to traditional braces including greater comfortability due to its design–smooth removable plastic versus metal brackets and wires–as well as being nearly invisible due to how it looks on the wearer’s mouth! Removing it when it needs cleaning also adds another layer of convenience for those considering this type of orthodontic care versus other options available!
The short answer is no, but let’s look at the facts.
Dental implants are a very common and relatively painless way to replace missing or damaged teeth. During the procedure, your dentist will make a small incision in your gum and then insert an implant into your jawbone. While there may be some initial discomfort associated with this part of the process, it doesn’t usually qualify as pain. Instead, what you might feel is more like pressure or some minor soreness for a day or two after the procedure is completed.
After that initial adjustment period passes, you shouldn’t experience any further discomfort from your dental implants. Many patients report feeling much better after their implant has been placed because it restores natural function to their mouth and allows them to eat foods they couldn’t before without difficulty. You should also expect no postoperative swelling at all when compared to other restorative treatments such as bridgework fillings or dentures which involve cutting away existing bone structure from adjacent teeth for support and stability.
If taken care of properly with regular oral hygiene habits (brushing twice daily), these implants can last for decades with no further sensitivity-related issues so you don’t even have to worry about having them replaced anytime soon! Overall, dental implants are one of the least painful procedures out there – compared both in terms of time spent in the chair as well as afterward – making them one of the best ways out there to replace missing teeth without enduring any significant amounts of pain during the recovery period either! Restorative dentistry is a specialized branch of dentistry that focuses on restoring the health and function of the mouth after damage or disease. This can involve repairing damaged teeth, replacing missing teeth, treating gum disease, and even reconstructing the entire mouth. The goal of restorative dentistry is not only to improve the appearance of the patient’s smile, but more importantly, to ensure that the patient can eat, speak, and function normally.
There are several procedures that fall under the umbrella of restorative dentistry. Dental fillings, for example, are used to repair cavities or small areas of tooth decay. Crowns are used to cover and protect damaged or weakened teeth, while bridges and implants are used to replace missing teeth. Root canals are also a form of restorative dentistry, as they involve removing infected pulp from inside the tooth to prevent further damage and pain.
In addition to these treatments, restorative dentistry can also include full mouth reconstruction, which may involve a combination of different procedures to restore the mouth to its optimal health. This could be necessary in cases of severe trauma, extensive decay, or congenital conditions that affect the mouth. Restorative dentistry can significantly improve a patient’s quality of life by addressing oral health issues that cause pain, difficulty eating, or embarrassment due to the appearance of their teeth. A frenectomy, which is the removal or alteration of a small piece of tissue known as a frenum in the mouth, may be needed by people facing certain oral health conditions. There are two main types of frena in the mouth: the lingual frenum, which connects the underside of the tongue to the bottom of the mouth, and the labial frenum, which attaches the upper lip to the gums just above the two front teeth.
A lingual frenectomy may be needed for individuals with a condition known as ankyloglossia, or “tongue-tie.” This is when the lingual frenum is too short or thick, limiting the movement of the tongue. It can lead to problems with feeding in infants, and later on, it might cause issues with speech, oral hygiene, or even social issues like difficulty eating certain foods or kissing. A study in the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology has shown that a frenectomy can significantly improve these issues for the majority of patients.
A labial frenectomy, on the other hand, might be recommended for those whose labial frenum is causing a gap between their two front teeth (a condition known as diastema) or contributing to gum recession. This procedure is often performed in conjunction with orthodontic treatment to close the gap between the teeth and prevent it from reoccurring. In some cases, a large or improperly positioned labial frenum can also cause denture discomfort and may need to be removed to improve denture fit and comfort.
Temporomandibular joint disorders, also known as TMJ, can be treated through a variety of methods depending on the severity and nature of the condition. One common approach is the use of pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medications. If over-the-counter options aren’t effective enough, medical professionals might prescribe stronger medications to alleviate the pain.
Non-surgical treatments for TMJ are also quite common. These could include the use of mouth guards, physical therapy, trigger point injections, ultrasound therapy, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, and occlusal adjustments. Lifestyle modifications and stress management techniques are also recommended as part of the treatment plan. In some cases, more invasive procedures like arthroscopy, arthrocentesis, or even open-joint surgery might be considered to treat TMJ disorders.
Tongue tie, also known as ankyloglossia, is typically diagnosed through a physical examination. During this examination, healthcare providers will check if the frenulum, a fold of tissue under the tongue, is restricting the tongue’s movement. This restriction can prevent the tongue from moving as freely as it should.
For children who are old enough to talk, the healthcare provider may ask them to perform certain actions with their tongue, such as lifting it to the roof of their mouth or moving it from side to side. In infants, the diagnosis might not be as straightforward and may not be obvious until the baby has problems with feeding. An experienced healthcare provider who has seen many cases of tongue tie can typically make a diagnosis based on these examinations and observations.
Yes, seeking treatment from an emergency dentist can often be more expensive than regular dental visits. This is due to the immediate nature of emergency services, which may require dentists to offer care outside of standard office hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The premium for emergency services compensates for the convenience and availability of immediate care, as well as the potential need for specialized procedures to address urgent dental issues.
Furthermore, the cost associated with emergency dental services can vary depending on the complexity and severity of the condition being treated. While these costs may be higher upfront, accessing prompt dental care can prevent conditions from worsening, ultimately saving patients time and money by avoiding more extensive and expensive procedures in the future. It’s important for patients to consider both the immediate and long-term implications when deciding to seek emergency dental care.
A family dentist specializes in providing comprehensive dental care for individuals across all stages of life, from young children experiencing their first dental visit to older adults requiring more complex dental work. This type of dentist is adept at addressing a wide range of dental needs, including preventive care, routine check-ups, cleanings, fillings, and even some forms of cosmetic dentistry. Their practice is designed to offer convenient and consistent dental care for the entire family under one roof.
The advantage of seeing a family dentist lies in their ability to develop a deep understanding of your family’s oral health history and needs over time. This continuity of care not only helps in tailoring treatments and preventive strategies but also fosters a comfortable and familiar environment for patients of all ages. Whether it’s your child’s first dental appointment or routine care for seniors, a family dentist is equipped to ensure every family member receives the appropriate level of care and education to maintain optimal oral health.
